

"APPLE CAKE"Recipe by Chef Gianna
Created in Divadish KitchensIngredients:
1 medium sized Honey Crisp Apple ( diced )
1/2 tsp. of ginger
1/4 cup of Greeks Honey God's Yogurt
(1) basic White Cake Recipe ( I prefer using one with a Angel Food consistency)
Directions:Put diced apple and 1/4 tsp. ginger into glass measuring cup
Add enough water to cover apples and microwave them for app. 1 min. on 50% power till they are soft.
Drain and add to the above dry ingredients
Add 1/4 tsp. of ginger and Greek's yogurt and mix till blended pour into dry mix
**When adding moisture base ingredients please adjust your recipe by backing out same 1/4 measurement of liquid.
Mix everything by hand for 2-3 minutes till everything is blended or by beater on medium.
Pour into a well greased and floured cake pan, or bundt, or loaf tins.
Bake @ 350' for 35-45 min. app. test with toothpick for readiness do not over bake!
Icing:Use a Vanilla Icing to swirl lightly over cake
You may also sprinkle a Cinnamon Crumble over top
And a Apple & Cinnamon Glaze to finish it.
The above cake has these toppings on it.
This Apple Cake is moist, with a nice balance of sweet and apple.
It does remind me of a better tasting Angel Food Cake without the sponginess of one.
